100mm Hargreaves Halifax Soil Cast Iron P Traps With Bottom Door

A mechanically jointed, socketless system fully compliant with BS EN 877:1999 + A1:2006 from Hargreaves Foundry. Hargreaves is an iron foundry based in Halifax, with over 100 years of experience in manufacturing cast iron soil pipes and fittings. The diameter of the pipes range from 50mm to 300mm. Coated with a two part epoxy finish, red exterior and yellow interior, which provides improved performance when exposed to aggressive substances. The pipes in this system are coated with an average of 40 microns externally and 130 microns internally. Halifax Soil coatings have been tested successfully for resistance to attack by salt spray, waste water, hot water cycling and solution of acid at PH2 and alkalis at PH12. The fittings are also epoxy coated in red. Delivery in 5 days.

Benefits

  • Cast iron drainage systems are long-lasting, robust, and eco-friendly, making them suitable for public buildings. They are 100% recyclable and use almost 100% scrap and recycled metal during manufacturing, making them a sustainable option.

  • Low noise levels both airborne and structure borne due to its material density. Reduces the ambient noise in any structure; hospitals, hotels, schools etc.

  • Cast iron pipes are resistant to heat damage (fire rating of A2-s1-d0 which is the best possible rating for systems complying with BS EN 877).

Installation and Maintenance

  • Installation is a straightforward process retaining the advantages of traditional cast iron systems while significantly cutting installation costs thanks to modern jointing techniques using ductile iron or stainless steel couplings. Push-fit couplings (i.e. HS4095) are also now available.
A modern update of traditional cast iron waste systems. These feature new jointing methods but can still connect to existing soil stacks using a traditional caulked joint. This adaptability allows for upgrades without needing a full system replacement, offering cost savings over other systems.

  • Designed to minimise maintenance costs over their lifetime. Hargreaves suggest you should consider them ‘fit and forget’ systems.

  • Compatible with various equivalent systems. Standard couplings allow connection to products of different materials, provided external diameters match. For instance, a plastic pipe with a 110mm outer diameter can be connected to the 100mm Halifax Drain pipe (HD4001) using a 100mm Halifax Drain Ductile Iron Coupling (HD4012) because the 'outer' diameters match.

  • Also note the Halifax Manifold Connector (HS4058) - This multi-waste connector allows up to 3 waste pipes from various appliances e.g. sinks, basins and showers to be connected at a single internal point above finished floor level. The rubber grommets in the manifold connector may be cut to accept 32 and 40mm plastic or 35 and 42mm copper. The manifold body is connected to the stack by standard ductile iron couplings (i.e. HS4012) or stainless steel couplings (i.e. HS4002).
