The stylish colour coated range comes with a robust, three-layer corrosion resistant coating system designed to perform for 25 years without repainting, providing excellent corrosion protection. The galvanised layer further enhances the durability of the steel as galvanising provides sacrificial protection, where the protective zinc coating corrodes first to protect the underlying steel.
The galvanising process involves coating the steel core with zinc and magnesium molecules, creating a metallurgically bonded protective coating that offers long-term corrosion protection.
Galvanised steel can last over 50 years in rural areas and 20-25 years in urban locations without needing repainting.
Please note: The protective zinc layer of zinc, may develop white rust when exposed to moisture, like dew, during storage outside but wrapped in plastic – and is also negatively effected by rainwater run off from high acidic woods – so please read the (safe storage outside/acidic woods) guidance.
8 Stylish Finishes/colours
Galvanised steel guttering, including the colour-coated versions, offers a more eco-friendly alternative to plastic gutters. This is due to the metal’s significantly longer lifespan and its 100% recyclability at the end of its life cycle. Unlike plastic, galvanised steel does not contribute to environmental contamination through micro-plastics, which can enter ecosystems during the production of new plastic or when old plastic waste breaks down in landfills, eventually affecting wildlife.
- Given that the most significant expense in installation is the scaffolding required to reach the roofline (unless it’s a bungalow), minimizing the frequency of replacements is economically beneficial.
- Our Infinity Galvanised steel rainwater system is backed by a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty, but with proper installation and basic ongoing maintenance, it can last over 25 years. (And the new ZM coating comes with a 20 year warranty)
- The thickness of the zinc coating influences the corrosion resistance of galvanized steel. Galvanized steel can rust, but it occurs extremely slowly. During galvanizing, the zinc coating prevents rust and corrosion from happening quickly by forming an oxide layer that prevents oxygen from reaching the steel. Galvanized steel is generally a low-cost alternative for corrosion protection compared to stainless steel.
- We maintain extensive stock of ZM coated Galvanized Steel (available in 115, 125, 150 & 190mm) and seven colour-coated choices of Galvanised Steel gutters, downpipes and fittings (offered in 115 & 125mm). This ensures we can deliver these durable, appealing, and environmentally friendly products to homes and sites in mainland UK with next day delivery.
To make it more appealing to choose the environmentally friendly option, we are offering a 30% discount on ZM Galvanised steel guttering and up to 50% off on selected colour-coated Galvanised steel gutters and downpipes, available in 80mm, 100mm, and the new smaller diameter/gauge of 60mm.
Why choose galvanised steel…
- The deep-flow half round profile has exceptional capacity offering peace of mind for effective rainwater disposal.
- The galvanization process enhances corrosion resistance, significantly reducing susceptibility to rust and corrosion for longer.
- Dry jointed union connectors with no need for messy silicone
- Swaged downpipe that simply push-fit together
- A range of hopper heads, angles, branches, bends, offsets, outlets and brackets for a quick, easy to install gutter solution
- Fully galvanised and available in a range of 8 finishes: The new improved ZM coated Galv, Black, Anthracite Grey, Dusty Grey, Grey Aluminium, Grey White, White, and Sepia Brown. The zinc coating applied during the galvanising process plays a crucial role in protecting the gutters from rust.
Plus – No green washing – read the honest truth about the eco credentials of Galvanised Steel both now and in the near future. The galvanised coating can cover inaccessible areas, ensuring overall protection of the metal.
Other Infinity Guttering Materials
Alternative standard materials to Galvanised Steel include Natural Zinc, Quartz Zinc, and Copper, all available for next day delivery.

Additional Powder Coated Guttering Colours
Additional colour options can be ordered, though they might require longer lead times and may incur colour surcharges. For more details, please contact our customer service team at 0800 644 4428. The powder coating provides an additional and more durable finish, ensuring longevity and aesthetic appeal.
Powder coating offers significant advantages over other methods of applying colour, including enhanced durability. The powder coating process involves multiple steps and the application of an electrically charged powder to metal surfaces. Powder coatings are also environmentally friendly.
Both galvanizing and powder coating are methods used to protect metal surfaces from corrosion.
Powder coating offers a wide variety of colours, while Galvanised Steel is available in only one colour, silver, which dulls/darkens over time due to the zinc surface oxidising to protect the core steel.
A rainbow range of colours are available in Galvanised Steel Guttering and Downpipes with longer lead times and sometimes a surcharge [Read more about these 2 non-standard examples – Pale Stone and Chartwell Green]
