Job specific details & scope of works
Permission was granted in 2013 to begin the work on regenerating this former hotel, damaged by a fire in 2008 and 2015, but work only got underway in the past year.
Sustainable Britain Ltd and Architects Ascent turned the site into this stunning apartment block of 20 one and two-bedroom flats with sun terraces/full or Juliet balconies or with their own courtyard if they were ground floor apartments.
Rainwater draining off the roof through outlets in the facade spills into the hoppers and down the downpipes. The hoppers give extra capacity for times of higher rainfall. The Galvanised Steel will dull over time as the outer layer oxidizes creating a tough exterior surface protecting the integrity of the metal.
“This (refurb) was a mammoth task – it was a very run down building when we started which has made the transformation all the better!”
Henry of Sustainable Britain Ltd told us.
